Cobalt + Golf In Your State
Cobalt is not your typical golf brand, and Matt Cardis is not your typical golfing ambassador. When we first got introduced to Matt, we quickly realized he's the type of guy that represents the essence of our brand. Not too serious, but no hack either - he's the perfect mix of a die-hard golfer, but with the laidback vibe of the guy we all want to hit the course with.
Because of this we've teamed up with Matt, AKA "The Golf Nomad" and founder of Golf In Your State. As a professional photographer and full-time traveler, he’s dedicated the past 6 years showcasing the culture of American Golf and the “Modern Golfer” with Golf In Your State. And as someone who's traveled the US several times over, played some of the best courses in the country, and worked with many different golf brands, he's quickly becoming a seasoned veteran in the industry.
“My goal from the beginning was to highlight the current culture of the game in America...”
-Matt Cardis, Golf In Your State
Living out of a converted Sprinter van and traveling the country, Matt documents his life on the road, highlighting golf courses along the way. To date, he's played and photographed hundreds of courses. His van has become a rolling museum of sorts with golfing memorabilia and collectables, highlighted by the hundreds of signatures he's collected from the myriad of people he's played with. Working with some of the best brands in the industry, Adidas, Callaway, and Electric to name a few, he's sorted out a living and a career as a golfing nomad.
"As a professional photographer I've always understood the importance of quality optics. I demand the best out of my camera gear and I correlate my golf rangefinder with my photography equipment - my golfing rangefinder is no different than my camera gear. If you don't have that quality, you can tell the difference. Having that confidence is important."
"It was evident from the moment I put it in my hand that it was a quality product...the clarity, the speed, the accuracy...it is the perfect combination."
"[Before I knew about Cobalt] I had a really good rangefinder that I lost playing while at Beth Page Black. I had a bunch of companies reach out - 5 different companies. It was cool because I got to try them all out, see the full spectrum of the rangefinder experience. Cobalt was one of those companies, and literally, I tried it and it never came out of my bag. It was evident from the moment I put it in my hand that it was a quality product...the clarity, the speed, the accuracy...it is the perfect combination."
